Vegetation plays a huge role in the quality of Lake Conroe. Hydrilla IS back and property owners need to know the extent of the problem so we can all work together on a solution. Your LCA is currently working with Texas Parks and Wildlife and the San Jacinto River Authority to stop the rapid spread of this dangerous plant species. A combination of a specially designed herbicide and the reintroduction of Grass Carp will help slow the growth rate. The previous stockings of White Amur are keeping acreage to controllable limits. As these fish shrink in numbers, more will be added when Hydrilla density begins to increase.
